I see MANY underage users constantly using the BEER command. This trivializes an activity that is illegal to minors. ORGASM was removed, and I find that TOKE is even MORE offensive, and promotes a general appearance to users that this BBS supports illegal drug use. While we are at it, SEX and LOVE should also be restricted to adult users only. This board represents Arkansas to the nation and such openly suggestive actions flying about in general conference is bound to anger parents. You may not be able to control everything that happens in a conference, but it does not look good for this BBS to promote questionable behavior by including these actions. We have an adult area here. However, they are generally assured that PUBLIC bbs' try to limit questionable information to adult only forums. And you know as well as I do that children are very impressionable. That is why there are ratings on movies, music, and even computer games. This is not censorship, these things are allowed, they are just restricted to people that the law says are mature enough to understand. You can't see people having sex on television. You don't see people constantly passing joints around, just to be nice and friendly. The fact is that drinking and illegal drug use is being glamorized on this BBS, and in PUBLIC forums. Of course, YOU say it's all fun! It's entertaining! Well I can bet that the majority of parents out there would shudder to hear that. These things destroy lives. Having our youth of today believing that passing a joint to your friend is cool on the BBS leaves an impressionable effect. This is not just an off the wall opinion either, since there are many restrictions to what minors can be subjected to. For instance...language. Offensive words are banned. I can bet that the majority of users here would not be offended by illegal transfer of copywritten materials on here, but that does not make it right. This BBS is just 1 house in the cyber community. I would like to make a public complaint against the existence of the words TOKE and BEER. They are as offensive as ORGASM, the short lived sexually explicit action. Smoking pot is NOT something that should be glamorized by this BBS. It destroys people and their families.
